Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Remote Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team at Oracle Counseling Center. In this full-time role, you will leverage your expertise to provide therapeutic support primarily focused on clients dealing with mood disorders including depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety-related issues. This position allows you to make a significant difference in the mental well-being of our diverse clientele, while also enjoying the flexibility of remote work.

Work Environment

This role offers the convenience of a remote setting, allowing you to conduct therapy sessions from your own space. Our work culture emphasizes flexibility and open communication, ensuring that counselors can connect with one another while still serving clients effectively. Regular team meetings and case consultations will utilize virtual platforms, allowing seamless collaboration with colleagues and professional development opportunities even from a distance. You will work primarily from Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional evening and weekend shifts on a rotating basis to accommodate our clients' needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify the severity, frequency, and duration of mood disorder symptoms among clients, using validated diagnostic tools and techniques.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, integrating their personal goals, preferences, and the latest evidence-based practices.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), tailored to the needs of individual clients.
  • Educate clients and their families on mood disorders, coping mechanisms, and treatment options to promote understanding and effective self-management.
  • Monitor client progress throughout the treatment lifecycle, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans based on evolving needs and therapeutic outcomes.
  • Work closely with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive and integrated care for clients.
  • Utilize electronic health record systems to maintain accurate and confidential documentation of client assessments, treatment strategies, and ongoing progress.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and participate in trainings focusing on the latest research and advancements in mood disorder treatments.
  • Actively contribute to team initiatives aimed at promoting mental health awareness and de-stigmatization within the community.
Patient Population / Client Focus

As a counselor at Oracle Counseling Center, you will primarily engage with patients experiencing mood disorders. Our clientele ranges widely, incorporating individuals of varying ages, backgrounds, and socio-economic statuses, which underscores the importance of culturally competent care. You will provide empathetic support to promote resilience and facilitate healing, striving to empower clients to manage their mental health effectively and improve their overall quality of life.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Valid licensure in the state of Texas as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT.
  • Strong foundation in evidence-based treatment modalities suitable for mood disorders, particularly CBT and DBT.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, attributing to a proven ability to establish rapport and trust with diverse client populations.
  • Knowledge of psychopharmacology and experience collaborating with psychiatric professionals for comprehensive client care.
Preferred Experience
  • At least two years of post-licensure experience providing mental health counseling with a focus on mood disorders.
  • A successful history of improving client outcomes through therapeutic practices.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records and remote therapy platforms.
