The Produce Department Manager oversees all operations of the produce department, ensuring high-quality fresh fruits and vegetables, exceptional customer service, and efficient team performance. This role is responsible for managing inventory, ensuring food safety compliance, driving sales, and leading a team to meet department goals while maintaining an appealing and well-stocked department.Key Responsibilities:· Department Operations: Oversee daily operations, including receiving, inspecting, stocking, ordering, and merchandising produce to ensure freshness, quality, and attractive displays.· Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, order produce and supplies, manage stock rotation, and minimize waste to maintain freshness and reduce shrink.· Team Leadership: Train, schedule, and supervise department staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.· Customer Service: Address customer inquiries, resolve complaints, and provide product knowledge to enhance the shopping experience.· Food Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including HACCP, FDA, and local health department standards.· Sales & Profitability: Develop strategies to increase department sales, meet financial targets, and implement promotional displays to drive customer engagement.· Quality Control: Maintain high standards for produce quality, freshness, and presentation in display areas and storage spaces.· Budget Management: Manage department budget, control labor costs, and optimize operational efficiency.· Collaboration: Work closely with store management and other departments to align on store goals, promotions, and operational needs.
