Job Summary 

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Sales Representative to join our team, specializing in new and used Caterpillar construction equipment, as well as related products and services. This role requires a strategic, customer-focused approach to territory management, sales execution, and relationship building. You will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities, advising customers with confidence and expertise, and negotiating transactions that deliver value to both the customer and the company. The territory for this position will cover accounts in Boone, Kenton, and Campbell counties in Kentucky along with other select accounts outside of the territory as assigned.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Sell all Caterpillar construction equipment (GCI, CCE, and BCP), rentals, and related services.
  • Manage your territory effectively through strategic planning and execution.
  • Build strong customer relationships by demonstrating product knowledge and business insight.
  • Negotiate deals that align with both customer needs and company goals.
  • Maintain accurate records in Sales Link, including leads, opportunities, and account activities.
  • Prepare and deliver timely and accurate quotes, sales reports, contracts, financial documents, and delivery records.
  • Collaborate with factory representatives and other Ohio Machinery Company departments to drive mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Apply professional sales techniques to overcome objections and highlight product features and benefits.
  • Frequent visits to jobsites and industrial sites, where safety must be priority, including necessary Personal Protective Equipment.

Qualifications 

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a college degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction equipment industry is required, with experience with Caterpillar equipment preferred.
  • Must live within proximity to the territory covered.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

  • Must be a strong team player, coordinating and cooperating with other team members.
  • Proficient in computer systems and CRM tools.

  • Skilled in negotiation and relationship management.
