D4C Dental Brands is Seeking A Network Engineer

JOB SUMMARY:

Our Network Engineer will work with customers to evaluate, plan, install, configure, and coordinate voice and data network product and service implementations. Services include WAN/WLAN, Firewalls, VPN, Load Balancers, VOIP, Call Center Phone Systems, Transport, Unified Messaging/Communications, Public Switched Telephone Networks (PSTN), etc. Our hardware and software platforms include Cisco, Meraki, Juniper, Ciena, Avaya, Nextiva, etc. Expertise in one or more of these technologies is required.

Knowledge of various IT service management frameworks is beneficial (ITIL and ITSM). This position requires "24x7" availability for escalated incidents and planned network maintenance.

EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:

AA degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject

CCNA Required

CCNP is Valued

Any VoIP Platform Certification is Valued

JOB-RELATED EXPERIENCE:

3-5+ years working as an IT Network Engineer or Administrator in an enterprise setting

Exposure to both voice and data technologies.

JOB-RELATED SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

Experience working with multiple network technologies such as Meraki, Extreme Networks, and Cisco

Ability to configure SD-WAN, VPN, and other technologies to connect the field network to the data center securely

Standardize network closets and VoIP services at each practice

Installs, configures, and maintains network equipment, including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS, and DHCP

Significant cross-technical experience with both voice and data technologies

Maintains current knowledge and understanding of security and networking best practices of the industry to offer the best solutions and protection of systems

Creates firewall rules and updates firmware to keep data and communications protected

Monitors computer systems to improve network performance for all systems

Troubleshoots, resolves, and communicates networking issues to other employees and management

Follows proper change management principles and controls per D4C standards

Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate to technical and non-technical audiences

Ability to capture and document information on knowledge repositories

Ability to deal with the ambiguity associated with working in a fast-paced and changing environment

Strong analytical and organizational skills

Knowledge of healthcare information technology

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

We operate in 10 states and have two data centers. The candidate must be willing to travel. Ability to travel up to 50% of the time

Office Environment - in the office five days a week for the first three months

After the first three months, remote work potential one day per week

Ability to lift 25 pounds

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Implement new technology as specified in approved design documents that maintain a high degree of professionalism and customer communication along the way.

Assist in proactively maintaining plans for disaster recovery, including redundant appliances, circuits, and security as needed

Collaborate with customers to define detailed design specifications for voice and data network-based solutions, including specifications for trials and tests to help identify optimal solutions

Prepare detailed customer-facing network design documents that articulate technical and budgetary specifications for proposed solutions to an identified customer problem

Present potential solutions to internal and external audiences to validate solution scope, address risk and impact concerns, identify potential barriers to success, and set proper customer expectations

Collaborate with Regional Directors and project management resources to help plan for deployment or upgrade activities by providing technical input into project work plans, including defining key activities and tasks, allocating resource time, and executing of activities promptly

Engage in efforts to document, investigate and resolve customer-impacting incidents while ensuring high customer communication and professionalism

Track and investigate ongoing or recurring problems in an area of expertise using standard and custom problem management tools and processes, and develop plans and recommendations for improvements.

Proactively pursue appropriate training to keep technical skills current

Maintain proper records to support the chargeback of labor and materials to various customers, projects, or cost-centers.

Available to take calls 24x7 in the case of emergencies
