About this Role
We are seeking a board-eligible/board-certified general psychiatrist to join our multispecialty group. This role is an inpatient hospital-based coverage model (Inpatient unit, EmPATH unit, and consults). You will also be a teaching faculty member for our MUSC Orangeburg Psychiatry Residency Program, collaborating with MUSC's Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences in Charleston for clinical support and resources.

MUSC Health Orangeburg Medical Center was first established in 1919, growing from a small private hospital into a robust regional health care system that joined the Medical University of South Carolina hospital network in 2023. MUSC Health - Orangeburg's network includes a 286-bed acute care hospital in Orangeburg, a breast center with mobile mammography capabilities, MUSC Health Bamber-Barnwell Medical Pavilion, Express Care locations in Orangeburg and Santee, seven primary care clinics, and 15 specialty practices located throughout Orangeburg, Bamburg and Calhoun counties. As part of the MUSC Health Charleston Division, the Orangeburg facilities anchor the northern region of the Charleston Division, which strives to expand access to high quality specialized care from Charleston to Columbia. Existing Specialty services include cardiology, endocrinology, general surgery, urology, behavioral health, neurology, obstetrics and gynecology, internal medicine, orthopedics, vascular services, Interventional radiology, breast care, and outpatient physical, occupational and speech therapy. MUSC Orangeburg has a psychiatry residency and plans to expand residency programs. MUSC Charleston residency programs are also building educational rotations in Orangeburg, so you will have the opportunity to work in an educational environment in a community hospital setting.
