Lewis-Palmer School District 38, located in Monument, CO, is looking for a full time Early Childhood Assistant at Ray Kilmer Elementary School for the 2026-2027 school year. The Early Childhood Assistant works directly with the preschool classroom teachers to care for and educate preschool age children through age-appropriate learning experiences. Preschool classrooms are inclusive environments that serve students with various developmental needs. A person in this position is responsible for all children in the classroom. This is a full time position working Monday- Friday on student contact days. High school diploma or equivalent is required. Associate degree in Early Childhood or meet the CDEC licensing requirements for Assistant Group Leader (7.702.45) is preferred.
  • Facilitates positive play and interactions by participating with children throughout the class period including centers, recess, and snack
  • Assists in preparing lesson materials and classroom activities that foster exploration and independence by utilizing the approved curriculum
  • Provides assistance to children who require differentiated learning experiences
  • Assists students with self-help skills such as hand-washing, coats, toileting, diapering, and opening snacks
  • Contributes actively to the goals and success of all teams and team members through collaboration, cooperation, and flexibility in team discussions, activities, and decision making
