Job description

As part of the Data Solutions Division, the Monitoring Technologies Group develops and delivers cutting-edge instrumentation and monitoring systems, including acoustic emission sensors and systems, ultrasonic scanners, and software-integrated platforms that enable clients to move from reactive to predictive maintenance. Joining this team means contributing to industry-leading technologies that safeguard critical infrastructure and shape the future of smart asset integrity management

The Acoustic Sensor Assembler is responsible for assembling, testing, and inspecting precision acoustic sensors and related electronic components. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to follow technical work instructions, and a commitment to producing high-quality products that meet customer and engineering specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble acoustic sensors, transducers, and related electronic or mechanical components according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
  • Perform soldering, wiring, bonding, brazing, adhesive application, and mechanical assembly using hand tools and specialized equipment.
  • Inspect components and finished assemblies to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Conduct functional testing and verify test results.
  • Identify and report defects, nonconforming materials, or process issues to supervisors or quality personnel.
  • Maintain accurate production records and complete required documentation.
  • Handle delicate components using proper electrostatic discharge (ESD) procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve assembly or testing issues.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Mechanical aptitude and precision assembly skills.
  • Basic understanding of electronic components and circuits.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Basic computer skills for production tracking and data entry.
  • Ability to troubleshoot minor assembly issues and escalate concerns when necessary.
  • Experience in soldering, crimping and usage of small tools.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Frequent lifting up to 30 lbs.
