Job Summary:
We are seeking a versatile and detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to ensure that all products meet established requirements for reliability, workmanship, and overall quality standards. The ideal candidate will perform inspections, testing, and documentation throughout the production process while supporting continuous improvement and compliance initiatives.
Job Duties:
  • Perform in-process inspections of fabricated steel components, weldments, enclosures, frames, and modular structures to verify dimensional accuracy, alignment, fitment, and workmanship.
  • Inspect cutting, bending, welding, and structural fabrication processes in accordance with engineering drawings, fabrication standards, and project specifications.
  • Verify proper installation of hardware, fasteners, mechanical supports, doors, hinges, bus bars, and enclosure assemblies.
  • Perform in-process inspections of wiring, terminations, harness routing, labeling, torque requirements, and component installation.
  • Verify assemblies such as switchboards, panelboards, power racks, control panels, and relay protection panels meet electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and bill of material requirements.
  • Conduct functional checks, continuity tests, point-to-point verification, and component validation during and after assembly.
  • Conduct electrical testing using multimeters, phase monitors, Hipot/Megger devices, primary injection systems, or other equipment as required.
  • Energize electrical equipment up to 480 VAC and 125 VDC to perform functional and safety testing per test plans and UL/customer requirements.
  • Inspect output samples using dimensional, mechanical, and electrical test methods.
  • Ensure final assemblies meet all UL, NEC, and company quality standards before release.
  • Issue detailed inspection reports for each product and ensure compliance with quality procedures and test plans.
  • Record all discrepancies, deviations, and rework actions; enter inspection data into the quality database.
  • Apply inspection labels and document product acceptance once all variances have been corrected.
  • Review blueprints, fabrication drawings, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics; report any deviations from specifications.
  • Assist in identifying root causes of defects in metal fabrication, wiring, assembly, and manufacturing processes.
  • Recommend and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workmanship and reduce rework.
  • Assit in training production team members on quality control practices relevant to fabrication, mechanical assembly, electrical wiring, and UL standards.
  • Support customers during Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), providing technical clarity as needed.
  • Monitor production equipment and tools to ensure safe operation and compliance with internal and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain measurement and test equipment, schedule calibrations and update equipment logs.
  • Maintain current knowledge of fabrication techniques, UL 508A requirements, UL 891 standards, NEC guidelines, and industry best practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1+ years of experience in manufacturing, metal fabrication, electrical assembly, mechanical assembly, or related industrial work (QC experience preferred but not required).
  • Basic ability to read and interpret measurement tools (tape measures, calipers, micrometers, multimeters, etc.).
  • Basic understanding of mechanical or electrical components (training provided).
  • Ability to read or learn to read fabrication drawings, wiring diagrams, or blueprints.
  • Willingness to learn inspection methods, UL requirements, and company quality standards.
  • Computer literacy for completing reports and entering inspection data.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and safety.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • U.S. work authorization without sponsorship.
  • Ability to pass background and drug screenings.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in metal fabrication, panel assembly, electrical wiring, or similar industrial work.
  • 2+ years of experience performing inspections, quality checks, or electrical testing.
  • Familiarity with UL 508A, UL 891, UL 1558, UL 50/50E, UL 67, NEC, or industrial electrical equipment.
  • Experience training or mentoring team members.
