Job description

1. Associate / Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Health, Psychology or arelated field is preferred. Five years previous supervised work experience with young childrenand/or parents, High School Diploma required.
2.Must pass a criminal background check and is subject to the agency’s drug and alcohol testing program.
3.Extensive travel required in the area; must be able to travel outside the project area as assigned.
4.May come into contact with childhood diseases and blood on occasion.
5.Possess a valid Texas driver’s license and acceptable driving record, as approved by the agency’s vehicleinsurance carrier.
6.Employee must have an account with a financial institution that can process financial transactions throughMET’s electronic payroll system.
7.Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer functions.

  1. Supervise SMVF staff (maintaining necessary documentation of activities).
  2. Provide an orientation process for new Parent Educators that begins with hiring and continues throughout the first year after PAT training.
  3. Conduct at least four hours of staff meetings monthly that cover administrative issues and provide opportunities for review of implementation data, case discussion, peer support and skill building.
  4. Complete an annual performance evaluation of staff, including written professional development goals. Assist in completing annual performance evaluation of parent educators, including professional development goals.
  5. Ensure that Parent Educator obtain necessary professional development and renew certification with PAT National Center annually.
  6. Develop / maintain relationships with community organizations and leaders to help grow and sustain the program.
  7. Oversee direct recruitment efforts or participation in centralized intake system.
  8. Complete and submit the Affiliate Performance Report to PAT National Center.
  9. Assist with the continuous quality improvement.
  10. Approve fiscal expenditures-materials and travel, for operating the home visiting program.
  11. Maintain and monitor the budget for SMVF program.
  12. Report to work at scheduled time and maintain good attendance. Perform all duties in a safe, timely, and professional manner. Participate with a positive attitude and behavior in all program activities.
  13. Maintain confidentiality in all areas of responsibility.
  14. Assist in meeting agency non-federal share matching requirement (In-Kind).
  15. Perform all other duties as outlined by supervisor.
