Job description

Mercyhealth System in Freeport, Illinois, is currently seeking a Full-Time Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Critical Care Physician to join our expanding ICU team.

This is an inpatient nocturnist opportunity offering the ability to practice high-acuity critical care.

Opportunity Overview:
  • Full-Time Position 2,184 annual hours
  • 7 on / 7 off
  • 12-hour shifts:
  • 7:00 p.m.7:00 a.m. (In-house / Tele-ICU)
  • Includes weekends and holidays

Opportunities available for:

  • Critical Care Inpatient (Covering Tele at our other Mercyhealth Sites )
  • Mediteach EMR- Converting to Epic in October
Departmental Scope:
  • Level 2
  • 8 Bed ICU
  • Typical diagnosesarepostop general surgery, mechanical ventilation, sepsis, substance abuse/withdrawal, and DKA.
  • Open ICU with a strongHospitalistteam
  • High acuity to transfer to JBH and MHTC
Required Qualifications:
  • MD/DO Board Certified or Board Eligible
  • Fellowship trained in Critical Care or Pulmonary/Critical Care
  • Eligible for Illinois medical licensure
  • Strong clinical expertise in high-acuity ICU settings
  • Ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams
Compensation & Benefits:

Base Salary: $470,000 to $500,000

  • Retention and/or sign-on bonus
