Job description

Summary of Job The City of Beloit is currently accepting applications for an exciting career opportunity as the Director of Operations in the Operations Division of the Public Works Department. The Director of Operations performs managerial and professional work in the administration of the Operations Division. This position has primary responsibility for planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and managing the programs, activities and staff of the four subdivisions of the Operations Division: Streets, Fleet, Solid Waste and Facilities Maintenance which includes duties such as fleet repair and maintenance, building and facility maintenance, street repair and maintenance; street cleaning; snow and ice control; solid waste management; and other related programs and activities.

This position is eligible for a flexible work arrangement, including hybrid work, alternative work schedule, and flextime. Qualifications MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 1. A valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record 2.

A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Natural Resource Management, Engineering, or a closely related field. 3. Five (5) years of responsible supervisory experience in a public works setting 4.

At least two (2) years of professional managerial experience involving budgetary, program development, planning, and comprehensive supervisory responsibilities preferred. 5. FEMA Emergency Management Trainings IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, IS-800, ICS-300, ICS-400 or ability to obtain within eighteen (18) months of hire.

6. Other combinations of training and/or experience which can be demonstrated to result in the possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of this position will also be considered. Equal Opportunity Employer.
