Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' mental health status and needs, utilizing appropriate diagnostic tools such as the DSM-5 to inform individualized treatment plans.

  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to each patient's unique circumstances, maintaining a focus on achieving positive mental health outcomes.

  • Develop and regularly update comprehensive treatment strategies that incorporate feedback from patients and their families, ensuring alignment with desired goals and expected outcomes.

  • Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams, including oncologists, nurses, and school counselors, to ensure cohesive care coordination for pediatric patients.

  • Document and maintain accurate treatment records in compliance with state regulations and organizational policies, utilizing current electronic health record (EHR) technology.

  • Provide education and mentorship to interns and peers, fostering a culture of learning and professional growth within the team.

  • Participate in case reviews and clinical discussions to enhance therapeutic practices and contribute to departmental initiatives.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This position focuses on assisting children and their families who are navigating the emotional and psychological challenges associated with a cancer diagnosis. You will engage with a diverse patient population, integrating cultural sensitivities into your practice. As a key member of the treatment team, your expertise will significantly impact the patients' coping mechanisms and overall adjustment to their health circumstances.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.

  • Current licensure as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in the state of Massachusetts.

  • Proven experience working with patients facing chronic illness, particularly in pediatric oncology, is highly desirable.

Preferred Experience
  • Demonstrated capability in using therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and family systems therapy.

  • Experience in interdisciplinary collaboration and care coordination with medical professionals and educators.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive yearly salary ranging from $90,000 to $105,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
