Job Summary: Participates in the customization, development, enhancement and maintenance of applications and systems. Assists in the design, coding, testing, debugging, and implementation phases of the application systems development process and also provides technical support for application systems bug fixes, defects, issue resolution and regular maintenance.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Codes and configures software applications to adhere to designs supporting internal business requirements or external customers
  • Standardizes the quality assurance procedure for software
  • Oversees testing and development fixes
  • Designs and executes unit testing
  • Assists in gathering user requirements for fixes and enhancements
  • Assists in developing and documenting application specifications
  • Understands and follows SDLC processes such as change management processes, release processes, source code controls, build processes, and others

Front End
  • Responsible for working on front-end development processes and assists in the front-end decision-making with new methods, technologies and design
  • Collaborates with Web designers, Back-end engineers, UX/UI teams in the development of creative applications and systems which offers a streamlined customer experience
  • Designs markups/prototypes within existing style guides and guidelines for a consistent look and feel
  • Translates the technical implementation of design to ensure optimization speed and scalability
  • Acts as the owner of templates, ensuring that implementation is executed accurately
  • Responsible for development using responsive web and digital design, browser APIs, CMS applications, front-end libraries and frameworks, SEO principles, UI/UX design principles and best practices

Back-end
  • Responsible for working on back-end development processes and assists in the back-end decision-making with new methods and technologies.
  • Works on a wide scope of tasks including technical support, feature requests, and application integrations.
  • Designs, implements or improves features in a variety of backend systems (e.g., REST APIs, microservices, data ingestion and processing systems, distributed task/job processing systems)
  • Shows ownership of backend-end components integration with other back-end infrastructure.
  • Responsible for development using modern libraries and tooling, Microservices architecture and development, RESTful APIs, REST principles, automated build platforms/continuous integration

Full stack
  • Responsible for working on both front-end and back-end development processes and assists in the decision-making with new methods and technologies

  • Develops and maintains responsive, intuitive user interfaces using modern web technologies

Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning (AI/ML)
  • Performs research, builds, and designs self-running software to automate predictive models
  • Builds artificial intelligence (AI) systems that leverage huge data sets to generate and develop algorithms capable of learning and eventually making predictions

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (in Computer Science, MIS, or Software Engineering) required
  • 0-2 years' software development and maintenance experience
  • Experience writing functional requirements and technical specs
  • Experience designing and implementing solutions from functional and technical specs
  • Experience providing technical support for resolutions
  • Experience working with source code repositories
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Visio, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access)
  • Knowledge of deployment automation tools and DevOps practices is a plus
  • Knowledge of SDLC and software support and maintenance approaches like Scrum and Waterfall
