Job description

*This position is located onsite in Marathon City, WI*
Position Summary:
The Packaging Components Controller is responsible for maintaining accurate purchasing, inventory, and material planning data within the SAP ERP environment utilizing GIB/DCO optimization tools. This position ensures material availability for production while minimizing inventory investment through effective planning, purchasing control, supplier coordination, and master data governance. This position will report directly to the Corrugated Dry Ingredients Lead.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
  • Maintain purchasing and planning master data within SAP ERP, including material masters, purchasing info records, source lists, and vendor data
  • Create Contracts, Purchase Orders, and Scheduling Agreements for the creation and releases of assigned materials
  • Monitor system-generated purchase recommendations and ensure alignment with business requirements.
  • Utilize GIB/DCO inventory optimization tools to manage stocking policies, reorder parameters, safety stock levels, and service targets
  • Support ongoing SAP and GIB/DCO enhancements, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Analyze planning exceptions and recommend corrective actions
  • Follow-up on supplier commitments to ensure timely deliveries and expedite if necessary
  • Maintain effective working relationships with suppliers, customers and coworkers, while maintaining a high level of professional conduct and to safeguard the confidentiality of supplier price information
  • Back up Purchasing Controllers and Purchasing Coordinators
  • Coordinate releases through customer's portals as well as MCC SAP system
  • Review demand variability, lead times, and service level targets to optimize inventory settings
  • Manage procurement activities for assigned component categories (Film, Corrugated, Ingredients, Labels, Consumables)

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, post-secondary education preferred
  • 1-2 years' experience in an office setting required with prior purchasing and inventory/material planning experience preferred
  • Understanding of MRP, inventory management, forecasting and purchasing best practices
  • Comfort using Microsoft Excel with basic to intermediate skills within the program
  • Prior experience with an SAP/ERP system is a plus
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment while being a team player
  • Ability to work on your own and problem solve using critical thinking and logical well thought out decisions
  • Fantastic written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail is a must
