Job description

**This Position is onsite located in Marathon City, WI**
Position Information
This position is responsible for leading all aspects of shift operations in a packaging manufacturing environment. This role ensures the highest standards of safety, quality and efficiency while fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and employee development. The Shift Manager leads the supervisory team and works closely with plant schedulers to plan, schedule, and coordinate production activities safely and efficiently with organizational standards. This role partners with internal departments to deliver results that meet customer and regulatory requirements. This position reports to the Plant Manager.
Essential Functions Statement(s)
  • Oversees daily production activities to achieve safety, quality and efficiency goals.
  • Assume full responsibility for the shift performance, including meeting production targets and operational KPIs.
  • Prioritize people safety, food safety, and quality above all else.
  • Communicate daily plans, priorities, and upcoming changes.
  • Serve as a frontline resource, providing guidance and support to employees.
  • Works with Plant Manager to develop strategies that drive key performance metrics.
  • Partner with Business Development by providing production data to support accurate and timely quote development.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all shifts to effectively report on performance and operational status.
  • Oversee and manage product trials, ensuring proper execution, documentation, and reporting of results.
  • Participate in scheduling meetings and evaluate the production schedule from a holistic, cross-shift perspective.
  • Enforce company policies, procedures, SOPs and regulatory compliance consistently across shift.
  • Mentor and develop production supervisors and frontline employees, fostering growth and engagement
  • Address performance or behavioral issues in in alignment with company's core values.
  • Sets and communicates clear performance expectations, holding employees accountable.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Customer Service to schedule orders efficiently and meet customer requirements.
  • Apply critical thinking to identify bottlenecks, implement process improvements, and optimize workflow.
  • Ensures staffing resources are effectively allocated to meet production demands
  • Partners with the Human Resources Department to share and address business needs.
  • Promote an inclusive and values-driven workplace culture
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience
  • Associate's degree or equivalent in Operations Management, Business Management, Supply Chain Management, or other related fields. Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 6+ years' experience in supervision or management
