Job description

The Field Service/Support Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the technical infrastructure and operational readiness of Lifetouch Area Offices and JCPenney Studios. This position focuses on the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of studio, office, and Lifetouch Camera System equipment, including mechanical systems, electrical components, camera system components, and facility-related technologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in field operations, systems integration, and hands-on support of physical infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime across geographically distributed sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Systems Engineering, Field Technical Services (FTS), and vendors to implement and maintain technical systems that support the Lifetouch field and studio operations.
  • Install, configure, and maintain studio equipment, including lighting systems, power distribution units, environmental controls, and other facility-related technologies.
  • Troubleshoot and repair hardware and infrastructure issues, including cabling, electrical components, and mechanical systems.
  • Provide on-site and remote technical support to ensure operational continuity and high-quality customer experiences.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on studio and office equipment to ensure compliance with safety and performance standards.
  • Support the deployment and integration of new technologies, including studio automation tools, camera system upgrades, environmental monitoring systems, and energy-efficient upgrades.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of technical procedures, equipment configurations, and service records.
  • Assist in planning and executing technical projects, including studio buildouts, relocations, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and internal operational standards.
  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives to improve technical processes and enhance field service capabilities.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Technical or vocational degree in electronics, mechanical systems, facilities management, or a related field.
  • 5–8 years of hands-on technical experience in field service, facilities support, or systems integration.
  • Strong mechanical and electronics troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency with tools and diagnostic equipment used in field service and facilities maintenance.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and regulatory compliance (e.g., OSHA, NEC).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting studio environments or similar production/retail facilities.
  • Experience with SAP, ServiceNow, Microsoft Office is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Lifetouch operations and JCPenney Studio workflows.
  • Experience with Lifetouch Camera System equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple technical projects across distributed locations.
  • Experience with building management systems (BMS), HVAC controls, or low-voltage systems.
