Job description

Summary
JOB SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, plans organizes, and manages the operational aspects of one of LifeBridge Health Security Department facilities. Manages the daily operations of all areas within the department to ensure the safety and security of all of the facilities patients, visitors, guests, employees, and vendors. Provides for the protection of the company assets, grounds, and environments.
  • Manages all security personnel and coordinates daily administrative responsibilities related to one of LifeBridge Health's campuses. Reviews and approves all reports submitted by members of the security department. Approves leave and checks attendance for all security staff. Responds to and takes charge of any major incident that occurs on the campus of the facility. Manages the enforcement of laws, statutes, and Hospital policies.
  • Directs the day-to-day operations of the Security Department for their assigned facility. Directs the activities of the Security department to include daily deployment of staff based on the operational needs of the hospital. Provides direction for staff in areas of responsibility and promotes quality of work related to security and customer service. Assigns work for day-to-day operations and coordinates with Shift/Team leaders on needs for staffing and equipment to perform daily operations. Directs follow up on incident reports and related investigations as required.
  • Organize the Security department's day-to-day operations to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of the department. Organizes day-to-day assignments and redirects resources as required. Coordinate with various other areas, including Corporate Director of Security Services, Parking Manager, Director of Safety and Emergency Management, Etc. to effectively manage security operations on the campus. Holds and organizes meetings to include preparation of agendas and meeting minutes.
  • Works with the Corporate Director of Security Services and other managers to plan and coordinate operations of the Security department. In collaboration with the Corporate Director of Security Services, plans the day to day security operations. Plans for special events and work with various departments to coordinate and arrange security as required. Reviews with Corporate Director of Security Services the needs for security applications like access control and CCTV on the assigned campus. Plans for and works with Facilities to coordinate the installation of security technologies in assigned facility. Meets with various Dept heads, managers and outside interests to coordinate the operations of the security department. Sits on various committees.
  • Works with the Corporate Director of Security Services to plan and manage the operating budget for each year. Approves expenditure on various line items within the Security Department's operating budget. Reviews and reconciles monthly budget reports. Works with Security Director to plan and manage the operating budget for each year. Performs regular inspections of the Department and evaluates the performance of personnel and programs. Manages and approves staff evaluations for members of the Security Department under their command.
  • Manages and approves staff evaluations for members of the security departments. Performs rounding to include the day-to-day observations and evaluation of staff related to the operations of the Security Dept. Uses feedback from various sources like Press Gainey, Support Services and self-assessment of the Security Dept. to determine plans for improvement in both operations and customer service areas.
  • Manages and supports training for the Security Department. Develop and support training curriculums for the Security department. Works to promote standards for healthcare security through the International Association for Healthcare Security. Security and Safety. Provides regular training at roll calls and team leader meetings to promote the effective operations of the Security department.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Law Enforcement/Security related supervisory roles; 5+ years of experience preferred
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree or higher preferred
  • Active BLS certification through the American Heart Association within 30 days of hire
  • Current Healthcare Security Officer Certification
  • IAHSS Supervisor Certification Required within 60 days of hire
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a Special Police Officer Commission through the State of Maryland within 6 months of hire
  • Ability to acquire Maryland State Wear and Carry Permit within 6 months of hire
  • Ability to obtain Maryland Security Guard Certification (Guard Card) within 30 days of hire
