This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to provide specialized mental health care to individuals grappling with trauma through innovative telehealth solutions.

About the Organization

At Life Edge Behavioral Health Center, we are committed to delivering compassionate and high-quality mental health services. Our primary focus is on trauma recovery, working tirelessly to help individuals affected by post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. We pride ourselves on creating a safe, supportive environment where patients can express themselves freely and work towards healing and resilience.

Work Environment

This role is entirely remote, allowing you the flexibility to work from your own space while being part of a collaborative team. Our telehealth facility is equipped with state-of-the-art technology to ensure seamless communication and support for our therapists and clients. You will work during standard business hours, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility required to meet the needs of our patient population.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed assessments to thoroughly evaluate patients' trauma histories, aiding in the development of tailored treatment plans.
  • Implement individualized treatment plans focused on rebuilding resilience and promoting recovery, ensuring that each patient's unique needs are met.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to facilitate healing.
  • Lead both individual and group therapy sessions, creating a dynamic environment where patients can share their experiences and learn valuable coping strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with psychiatrists and multidisciplinary professionals to provide integrated care and coordinate treatment strategies for patients.
  • Respond with crisis intervention skills during trauma-related emergencies, providing immediate support and facilitating access to additional resources as needed.
  • Educate patients and their families about trauma, its effects, and available coping mechanisms, empowering them through knowledge.
  • Document patient interactions and treatment progress accurately and confidentially, adhering to all legal and ethical standards.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and team meetings, staying informed about the latest research and practices in trauma-informed care.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This position primarily focuses on individuals who have experienced trauma, particularly those dealing with PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. As a therapist at Life Edge, you will have the profound opportunity to positively impact the lives of trauma survivors, aiding them on their journey towards healing and recovery.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • A current and valid license as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in New York State.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with a compassionate and non-judgmental approach to therapy.
  • The ability to maintain composure in high-stress situations, supporting patients with empathy and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and essential computer applications suitable for telehealth settings.
Preferred Experience
  • A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling, specifically in trauma-focused therapies.
  • In-depth knowledge of trauma-related disorders and evidence-based treatment modalities.
  • Experience working with diverse populations, showcasing cultural competence and adaptability.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this full-time position ranges from $90,000 to $110,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to competitive pay, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

  • Robust healthcare coverage, including medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • A retirement savings plan with employer-matching contributions to secure your financial future.
  • Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday pay, fostering a healthy work-life balance.
  • Professional liability insurance coverage.
  • Continuing education opportunities and support for professional development, helping you advance your career.
  • A collaborative and supportive work environment that values teamwork and personal growth.
