Job description

Position Description:
We are seeking a Front-End Designer & Developer to own how our website looks, feels, and converts, and to bring that same design craft to the campaigns, collateral, and creative our Marketing Team puts in front of the construction industry every day. This position is responsible for writing real front-end code: clean, responsive HTML, CSS, and JavaScript inside our WordPress and Elementor environment. Our Front-End Designer & Developer will also work at a high level in Adobe Creative Cloud to support production of the graphics, ads, collateral, and campaign assets the Marketing Team relies on. The ideal candidate can seamlessly build landing pages and design tradeshow graphics, and do both well. The person in this role will partner closely with our Web Platform Engineer, who owns the technical health, security, and infrastructure of the site, while staying focused on design and front-end craft. If you enjoy working in a past-paced environment, measuring what works with data, and using modern tools (including AI) to do your best work, this might be the perfect role for you.

NOTE: To be considered for this role, applicants must provide a portfolio for review. Your portfolio should show both design work and websites or pages you personally built.

Why Tenna?
At Tenna, we believe the best is right in front of all of us, and that each day holds more potential than the one before. We believe that every new discovery can lead to something better than we thought possible. When we boil it down, the top five qualities that define the Tenna Team are quality-obsessed, gritty, continuous learners, collaborative problem solvers, and just plain awesome. Sound like you? Join us as we empower our customers to control their mixed assets anytime, anywhere, on one comprehensive platform.  Apply now!
Responsibilities
  • Designs and builds responsive page templates, components, and landing pages on tenna.com, writing clean, scalable, well-structured HTML, CSS, and JavaScript within WordPress.
  • Translates ideas and requirements into wireframes, prototypes, and production-ready designs, and moves them through stakeholder review efficiently.
  • Builds and maintains reusable blocks, patterns, and templates in the Elementor page builder to publish on-brand pages without custom development.
  • Ensures pages meet WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standards (semantic markup, keyboard navigation, color contrast, alt text, and focus states) and tests for them.
  • Owns the front-end contribution to Core Web Vitals (LCP, INP, CLS) through disciplined markup, asset optimization, and script management.
  • Maintains cross-browser and cross-device compatibility, and QAs work before it ships.
  • Builds branded landing pages, emails, forms, and templates in HubSpot, including personalized or smart content where it improves performance.
  • Owns and evolves Tenna's digital design system (components, design tokens, type scale, iconography, and Figma libraries) so the brand stays consistent as the site and team grow.
  • Applies and helps enforce Tenna brand standards across marketing output, including co-branded and partner materials.
  • Documents design and front-end standards so the work is repeatable, reviewable, and transferable.
  • Designs creative across the full marketing mix using Adobe Creative Cloud: digital advertising, social graphics, email, sales collateral, tradeshow and event materials, product launch assets, and print, alongside the Digital Content Creator.
  • Turns complex product and data stories into clear visuals, infographics, and presentation graphics for Sales, Customer Success, and executive audiences alongside Content Marketers and Senior Product Marketing Manager.
  • Coordinates video and photography projects from concept through delivery, briefing and managing external production partners, scheduling internal stakeholders, and reviewing cuts for brand and message accuracy.
  • Uses GA4, HubSpot, heatmapping, and search data to identify friction and opportunity, then designs and runs A/B tests on pages, forms, and calls to action.
  • Reports on the performance of web and creative work (conversion rate, engagement, campaign results) and uses what is learned to prioritize what gets built next.
  • Tracks design, web, and B2B digital trends and evaluates competitor sites to keep Tenna's digital presence ahead.
  • Partners with the Web Platform Engineer on anything touching plugins, infrastructure, tracking, or server-side performance.
  • Works cross-functionally with the Marketing, Events, Sales, TKC and Customer Success teams to deliver design support on realistic, negotiated timelines.
  • Uses Tenna-approved AI tools to accelerate concepting, asset variation, copy iteration, code scaffolding, and QA, while personally owning the accuracy, quality, accessibility, and brand fidelity of everything that ships.
Reqiurements
  • 4+ years designing and building websites, with a portfolio demonstrating both design craft and shipped front-end code.
  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design, digital media, visual communications, interaction design, or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • Video editing and motion graphics experience (Premiere Pro, After Effects, or similar) is a plus.
  • Photography or videography capture experience for jobsite and customer content is a plus.
  • Experience marketing to construction, industrial, or other field-based B2B audiences is a plus.
  • Strong hands-on HTML5, CSS3 (including Flexbox and Grid), and JavaScript; comfortable working inside a WordPress theme and writing custom CSS to extend or override a page builder.
  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining pages in Elementor, including templates, global styles, custom widgets, and working within Elementor's markup and performance constraints. Tenna's website runs on Elementor, and this role works in it daily.
  • Practical WordPress experience with themes, templates, custom fields, and page-level components.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign), with a portfolio showing polished work across digital and print formats.
  • Proficiency in Figma for design, prototyping, component libraries, and developer handoff.
  • Working knowledge of HubSpot for landing pages, emails, forms, and templates.
  • Demonstrated understanding of UI/UX fundamentals, responsive design, and visual hierarchy.
  • Working knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility requirements and how to test against them (axe, WAVE, keyboard and screen reader checks).
  • Familiarity with on-page SEO fundamentals and Core Web Vitals as they relate to front-end decisions.
  • Disciplined change management: works in a staging environment, tests before publishing, and keeps a clear record of what changed and why.
  • Fluency with AI-assisted design and development tools, paired with the judgment to know when human craft and review are required.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, communicate timelines clearly, and meet deadlines in a fast-moving marketing environment.
Benefits, Perks, & Additional Information:
  • Full-time opportunity.
  • Location: Remote - United States. East coast preferred.
  • Travel is required, up to 15%.
  • Competitive compensation packages offered.
  • Opportunities for growth and personal development within highly dynamic team.
  • Robust, low-cost benefit packages offered.
  • Benefit coverage begins the first date of employment.
  • Paid Time Off and Volunteer Time Off offered.
