Job description

TSW Utility Solutions, Inc. is now hiring motivated team members to join our family! TSW Utility Solutions, Inc. is a full-service underground utility contractor that focuses on the central Indiana market. We specialize in underground water and wastewater industry services. Are you ready to take your skills to the next level?
We are currently hiring experienced Pipe Layers, who have experience laying and installing pipes around water and sewers to join our pipe crews in Indianapolis, IN. If you enjoy hands-on work and want to grow your career in pipeline construction, this is your opportunity. You’ll play a key role in installing essential infrastructure while developing your expertise alongside experienced professionals.
The starting pay is $24.00-$33.00 per hour contingent upon experience. We are currently offering limited-time sign-on and referral bonuses to all new hires who meet the requirements outlined in our sign-on and referral bonus programs.

What You’ll Do:

  • Install trench and excavation safety systems to ensure a safe work environment
  • Work with the operator to ensure proper grading and installation of underground water, sanitary, and storm sewer lines
  • Assist with testing and sampling of installed utility pipelines to meet quality standards
  • Learn and stay aligned with Indiana’s no-dig laws and the 811 process
  • Maintain general housekeeping, erosion control, and tool upkeep to keep the job site organized and efficient
  • Safely operate equipment such as pipe saws, pumps, and impact wrenches, outside normal equipment operator duties
  • Assist with setting up and maintaining traffic control systems to maintain safety at all times
  • Drive the crew truck to and from the site regularly
  • Learn how to read blueprints and calculate grades

What We Need:

  • Valid Indiana Driver’s License and safe driving record
  • OSHA 10-hour card (or the ability to obtain within 90 days of employment)
  • Certified in HDPE pipe fusion
  • At least 2 years of water and sanitary pipe experience
  • Strong knowledge of pipeline construction methods, techniques, and tools
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents such as maps, operating manuals, and safety guidelines
  • Understanding of traffic control setup and maintenance
  • Previous experience in General Groundman, Top Man, and Pipelayer duties
  • Ability to lift over 50 pounds and perform tasks that require bending, standing, walking, and climbing
  • High school diploma or GED, with one year of related pipeline experience (specifically trenching and shoring)
