Position SummaryThe Orthopedic Travel Surgical Technician (ST) provides specialized support for orthopedic surgical cases across multiple sites, including the main hospital and outpatient surgery center. When not assisting Orthopedic cases will be expected to assist in other surgical cases.QualificationsCurrent Surgical Technician Certification, Minimum 2 years' Operating Room experience with orthopedic focus. Experience with orthopedic implants and grafts required.Strong understanding of sterile technique and perioperative standards. Flexibility and strong orthopedic expertise are required, along with the ability to support additional surgical specialties as needed. Adaptability to different teams, workflows, and case volumes required. Experience with robotics and advanced surgical technology.Primary Responsibilities Provide intraoperative support for orthopedic surgical procedures. Manage orthopedic implants, grafts, and instrumentation.Maintain knowledge of orthopedic procedures including total joint and sports medicine.Support General, Urology, Uro-GYN, GYN, ENT, Neuro, Podiatry, and Robotics when not assigned to orthopedic cases.Schedule Call RequirementsFull-time: 4 ten-hour shifts per week. Participating in call rotation including weekdays, weekends and holidays. Must maintain a 30-minute response time when on call. Schedule flexibility required based on surgical volume. Core CompetenciesStrong critical thinking and adaptability.Ability to anticipate surgeon needs.Commitment to patient safety and quality care.Team-oriented mindset and willingness to support all service lines.Additional ExpectationsCompliance with Genesis HealthCare System policies.Participation in quality improvement initiatives.Flexibility to support departmental needs and staffing models. Additional Information:Per updated BSA on 6.26.25 Facility reserves the right to cancel up to 36 hours per 13 week contract. These hours are not limited to 12 hour shifts and will be marked on the facility time report ***Please Note -Your Agency s contract to your traveler MUST mirror the confirmation page. If your agency does not comply with this standard, your agency will be at risk of being removed from the Genesis Healthcare vendor set. No exceptions! Start Date Must be Identical. End Date Must be Identical. RTO Must be identical ***Please Note - All Requested Time Off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of submission and added into the confirmation page for it to be honored. If your agency or the traveler does not include all RTO in the submission form and adds it post confirmation, your agency will be at risk of being removed from the Genesis Healthcare vendor set. No exceptions!
