Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for motivated and charismatic drivers/servers to join our local Kona Krew! These are part-time positions, and the right candidates must be willing and able to drive and serve at events. This is a fast-paced, fun job in a growing company where no two days are alike. We serve at schools, sporting events, tournaments, large festivals, concerts, corporate events, neighborhood parties, weddings, birthdays, and many other community gatherings.


About the Role


The Kona Event Specialist/Driver is responsible for driving, operating, and serving from a one-of-a-kind Kona Ice truck. You will ensure a memorable customer experience by spreading fun, delivering smiles, and giving back to the community. Events will primarily be in Anaheim (Downtown), Orange, and Walnut/Diamond Bar (with occasional travel to surrounding areas).


This position requires a clean driving record and comfort with driving to/from events in a large vehicle. Driving is not optional—it is a central responsibility of this role.


Responsibilities


  • Safely drive and operate a Kona Ice truck to and from scheduled events.
  • Represent the Kona Ice brand by delivering an exceptional customer experience.
  • Greet customers courteously and provide fast, friendly service.
  • Take orders, handle cash and credit card transactions accurately.
  • Maintain trucks and equipment to brand standards (cleanliness, safety, stocking).
  • Load/unload and transport supplies and inventory as needed.
  • Comply with health, hygiene, and sanitation guidelines.
  • Assist with basic cleaning and restocking at the commissary.
  • Communicate maintenance, inventory, and supply needs promptly.
  • Contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license.
  • Clean driving record (no exceptions).
  • Minimum 2 years of driving experience; large vehicle/food truck/towing experience a plus.
  • Must be willing and able to drive to/from events regularly.
  • Reliable transportation to and from commissary/warehouse.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong self-initiative, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service abilities; comfortable engaging with children.
  • Open availability, including weekends, is required.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
  • Food Handlers Certification (or ability to obtain).
  • Excellent time management and ability to multitask under pressure.
