ROLE OVERVIEW:
This is a seasonal position, you can use your winters off to travel, hunt, fish or for other activities you enjoy while your benefits continue year-round.
This position is responsible to help administer awarded project contracts (asphalt, grading and concrete. This includes analyzing blueprints, specifications, proposals and other documentation, and planning, directing, and coordinating activities of designated projects to ensure projects are safely completed on time and within budget. Position requires work outdoor and the ability to work in team environment.
  • Gravel Base - To oversee efficiency of gravel submittals, ensure compaction tests are correct.
  • Milling - Oversee the efficiency of milling process from milling crew, trucking and clean up.
  • Paving - Submit paving submittals to State/City or project owner, oversee the efficiency of pacing process
  • Job Site - Oversee the traffic control structure, establish job boards with required notifications

DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES (summary of components that make up the job) An asterisk (*) indicates essential job functions that cannot be modified in order to fulfill the job requirements.
  1. Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of designated project to ensure goals or objectives of project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters. Reviews project proposals to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project.
  2. Safely and properly manage and coordinate activities of project with department Superintendents/Foreman.
  3. Complete necessary paperwork - SWPPP is properly updated, documentation of daily process reports
  4. Approve and review work hours for crew and pertinent job information daily
  5. Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems (material quality, equipment operation/repair, etc.). Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors.
  6. Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written); Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to develop and maintain positive customer relations and act courteous/respectful of others.
  7. Ensure MSHA, OSHA, EPA, DNR, Lockout/Tagout, safety and environmental regulation compliance.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (types and extent of knowledge, skills or abilities an incumbent must possess to complete the job responsibilities satisfactorily)
  1. Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with people under high stress situations.
  2. Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations & act courteous/respectful of others.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (minimum educational, experience, or other relevant job requirements)
  1. Minimum 5 years' experience in product line and supervisory role
  2. Experience in HCSS and Microsoft Office
  3. Ability to hold and maintain proper licensure and acceptable driving record.
  4. Ability to work flexible shifts, including overtime, possible nights and some Saturdays.
