Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough initial evaluations to determine patient needs and challenges, incorporating patient histories and collaboration with other healthcare providers.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans that address the mental and emotional disorders of trauma injury patients, focusing on evidence-based methodologies.
  • Lead individual therapy sessions, utilizing active listening and therapeutic techniques to guide patients in addressing their challenges.
  • Monitor patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary while maintaining accurate records of client interactions and developments.
  • Educate patients and their families about coping mechanisms and resilience strategies to promote recovery and self-management.
  • Collaborate with external organizations and healthcare providers to coordinate care and refer patients to additional services as needed.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development through continuing education courses to uphold the National Certified Counselor certification and remain current with industry practices.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our focus at Kelso Comprehensive Therapy Center is on trauma injury patients, who may present with a range of psychological conditions stemming from acute and chronic trauma. As an LMHC, you will be instrumental in helping these patients to manage PTSD, anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues exacerbated by their life experiences. Your role will be crucial in understanding their individual stories and providing the support they need to reclaim their lives.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling or a closely related field is required.
  • A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) certification.
  • At least three years of experience working directly with patients who have experienced trauma.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, critical for patient interaction and professional collaboration.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with Salesforce and electronic medical records (EMR) systems to facilitate patient documentation and communications is a significant plus.
  • Prior engagement in community outreach programs focused on mental health resources and education will be advantageous.
Compensation and Benefits
