On September 16, 1946, Jackson Hospital opened with 37 patient beds and five attending physicians.
Today, licensed for 344 beds, Jackson Hospital is a community not-for-profit hospital serving Montgomery and the Alabama River Region. Our comprehensive healthcare services include cardiac, cancer, neurosciences, orthopedics and women's and children's care, along with 24-hour emergency services. It ranks among the largest hospitals in Alabama and is widely recognized for providing excellence in care. Even with our leading-edge technology and facilities, we remain true to our mission of providing superior personal healthcare in a safe, compassionate environment.
Detailed Job Description: Under the direction of the CNO, the Director is responsible on a 24-hour basis for the planning and comprehensive operations of a specific clinical unit or group of units ensuring compliance with hospital and nursing mission, goals, philosophy, policies and procedures. The Director utilizes the nursing process in the delivery of patient care and ensures quality care is provided through appropriate allocation of human resources, maintaining financial control of the unit, and serving as a liaison between administration and staff.
Women's Services includes a 14 bed LDRP, a 3 triage bed unit and a level II nursery with 70-80 deliveries per month. 2 assistant managers and 2 Educator/Clinical Coordinators.
The individual must demonstrates personal and professional responsibility; participates in creating an atmosphere of mutual trust, acceptance, recognition and respect; and assumes responsibility for own professional development. This position also serves as liaison to physicians, administration and hospital staff. We will offer the right candidate a Sign-On Bonus and relocation assistance. rec:max
BSN and unrestricted AL or Multi State RN license , Master's Degree preferred
  • 2 years of Director level experience including Business and Personnel experience
  • 5 years RN clinical experience
  • Clinical background in L & D
  • Must demonstrate personal and professional responsibility
  • Must assume responsibility for own professional development
