Job description

Performs under the scope of practice of the Alabama State Board of Respiratory Therapy Chapter 798-X-4. Provides all duties within scope of practice as ordered by physician or protocol and for all age groups as assigned. Promotes best practices in respiratory care through the application of evidenced based medicine involving patient assessment, recommendation, education, intervention and communication with the health care team. Follows Jackson Hospital Standards of performance, works well in a team, supports operations, and performance improvement. Attends required hospital and departmental based education and stays current in field.

AMA-approved program for respiratory care. Prefer 1 year critical care and neonatal experience. RRT or CRT; RRT preferred, BLS and ACLS required, PALS and NRP preferred. Current Alabama License required. Computer skills required for use of Hospital Information System and other devices. Standing and walking for long periods of time, bending, lifting, climbing stairs, maneuvering heavy rolling equipment long distances, assisting hospital staff in positioning and moving patients.
