Instron / ASTM Testing
Full-Time • $50,000–$80,000 Annually • Excellent Benefits

About the Role

EBS is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Composites Testing Technician to join our Technology team. This position supports research and development, product development, manufacturing, quality assurance, and customer projects by performing mechanical testing and analysis of structural adhesives, composites, plastics, and bonded assemblies.

What You'll Do

· Prepare and fabricate adhesive-bonded test specimens according to ASTM and customer requirements.

· Operate Instron or equivalent tensile and compression testing equipment.

· Perform physical and mechanical testing of adhesives, plastics, composites, and bonded assemblies.

· Analyze test results and prepare detailed technical reports.

· Develop and implement customer-specific testing methods and procedures.

· Communicate testing results and project status to customers and internal teams.

· Maintain laboratory equipment, calibration records, and testing documentation.

· Support ISO audits and Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.

· Review and implement ASTM, ISO, and customer testing standards.

· Ensure testing is completed accurately, safely, and on schedule.

Preferred Experience

· ASTM D1002 – Metal-to-Metal Lap Shear Testing

· ASTM D5868 – Adhesive Bonding of Plastics and Composites

· ASTM D638 – Tensile Properties of Plastics

· Compressive strength testing

· T-peel testing

· Adhesive bonding and specimen preparation

· ISO quality systems and laboratory documentation

· Development of customer-specific test methods

Minimum Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.

· One to two years of experience operating Instron or equivalent tensile/compression testing equipment.

· Experience performing ASTM-based materials testing.

· Authorized to work in the United States
