Position Overview:
The Tax Analyst will report to the Manager of Indirect Tax and Technology and will play a vital role in the global indirect tax workspace. The ideal candidate will have a fundamental understanding of the global indirect tax compliance process, including sales, use and property filings. Regardless of background, excellent analytical, organization, and communication skills, an eagerness to learn, and self-starting drive will make you a key addition to the team.
How you will impact Ingevity:

• Fully support the global indirect tax compliance lifecycle, including coordination with third-party service providers
• Prepare reconciliation of all sales, use, and property tax accounts
• With guidance, resolve indirect tax related notices from various tax jurisdictions
• Support sales and property tax audits, including working closely with other internal departments and location personnel, along with external consultants that may be involved in the review
• Conduct preliminary tax research using available tax research tools
• Support internal requests to resolve tax related customer inquiries and business unit procurement processes
• Reviewing, validating, and support management of exemption certificates

What you need to succeed:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
• Up to three years of experience in sales and property taxes with multi-jurisdictional exposure
• VAT tax compliance experience a plus
• Familiarity with sales tax compliance software and ERP systems, Vertex and SAP preferred
• Process Improvement/Continuous improvement mindset
• Ability to demonstrate strong organizational and problem-solving skills and be eager to learn and contribute in a fast-paced environment

Working Format: This role follows a hybrid schedule based at our North Charleston, SC headquarters.
