Position Overview

Independence Therapy Center is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our team. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients' backgrounds and develop appropriate therapeutic approaches.
• Craft and implement individualized treatment plans that target trauma recovery and resilience, tailoring interventions to meet the unique needs of each patient.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) in your clinical practice.
• Collaborate effectively with psychiatrists and multidisciplinary team members to provide integrated care that addresses all aspects of a patient’s mental health needs.
• Offer crisis intervention support during trauma-related emergencies and provide guidance throughout immediate distress situations.
• Educate patients and their families about trauma responses, practical coping skills, and resources available for additional support.
• Ensure accurate documentation of all patient interactions and treatment plans, adhering to legal and ethical standards to safeguard patient confidentiality.
• Engage in regular case consultations, team meetings, and continuous education activities that enhance your skills in trauma-informed care.
• Stay informed on the latest research and best practices in trauma therapy to improve patient outcomes and service delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be working with a diverse range of patients, primarily focusing on those affected by trauma. Your role will involve supporting individuals from various backgrounds who experience PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. A hallmark of our center’s approach is to empower patients on their journey to recovery, focusing on resilience and positive change.

Qualifications

• A Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT in the state of Illinois.
• Strong foundational knowledge of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed therapeutic modalities.
• Proficiency in the use of electronic health record (EHR) systems and relevant computer applications.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating a compassionate and non-judgmental demeanor.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience in a therapeutic setting, preferably focusing on trauma.
• Experience in the delivery of trauma-focused therapies, demonstrating effective application of therapeutic techniques.
• A proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from $90,000 to $110,000 per year, commensurate with your experience and qualifications. In addition to a competitive salary, our comprehensive benefits package includes:
