Job description

Department: S.P.A.C.E. Camp
Job Title: S.P.A.C.E. Camp Senior Counselor
Reports To: S.P.A.C.E. Camp Director
Summary: S.P.A.C.E. Camp's Senior Counselor position is for college students. Senior counselors are responsible for assisting lead classroom teachers, engaging with campers and ensuring camper safety. Senior counselors work with upper campers and teachers. Hours of work are 9:00 am to 3:30 pm, with a half-hour lunch break.
Qualifications:
  • Desire to work with children
  • Currently attending high school
  • Responsible and reliable

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities (Not Limited To):
  • Assist the lead classroom teacher
  • Engage with campers
  • Ensure camper safety

Work Environment:
  • Work is performed in a school/classroom environment, as well as outdoors. The noise level in the environment is usually moderate.

Physical Requirements:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, stand, sit, talk, and hear. The employee is regularly required to bend, stoop, crouch and/or kneel.
  • Regularly required to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
