Our client, a law firm with an excellent reputation for quality, is looking for another exceptional patent agent with a solid technical background and strong patent drafting skills.  This practice has an abundance of high quality work from an impressive and diverse list of clients, thus your client assignment will be dependent upon your technical expertise.

 

Primarily, this opportunity will relate to the preparation and prosecution of patents, opinions (patentability, infringement, freedom to operate, validity), and patent portfolio strategy.  There will also be the opportunity to support attorneys relating to due diligence, reexaminations, reissues, and IP licensing, depending on your interests and capabilities.

 

Here, you will have very substantive client engagement, thus strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.

 

Requirements:
   *  Must have at least 2 years of full time claim drafting and patent prosecution experience with a reputable law firm.  
   *  Minimum BS in Engineering (electrical, mechanical, materials, chemical) or Physics; an MS or Ph.D. would certainly be valued.
   *  Prior engineering experience would be a plus.
   *  Must possess excellent interpersonal skills suitable for substantial client interaction.
   *  USPTO license (for patent agent or patent attorney)
   *  State Bar (for patent attorneys)
