Job description

Position Overview

Safe Horizon Recovery Facility is actively seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor, specifically LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW accredited professionals, to join our dedicated team. This full-time, remote position offers the unique opportunity to provide vital mental health support as you work with individuals affected by substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders. Emphasizing relational and interpersonal dynamics, our therapists focus on empowering clients through therapeutic interventions in a supportive and nurturing environment.

About the Organization

At Safe Horizon Recovery Facility, we are driven by a mission to create healthier lives by making the health system more accessible and equitable for all. Based in Orange, California, we specialize in delivering comprehensive outpatient mental health services tailored to the needs of a diverse client population. Our commitment extends to addressing health disparities, improving health outcomes, and mitigating our environmental impact, reflecting our dedication to serving historically marginalized communities.

Work Environment

As a remote team member, you will benefit from flexibility while being part of an inclusive and collaborative work culture. Our outpatient office serves as the center for client engagement, where therapists like you stay connected to a multi-disciplinary team that shares resources and best practices. You'll engage in regular virtual meetings and collaborative sessions designed to ensure comprehensive care pathways for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

In your role as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, you will be responsible for:

  • Offering individual and group therapy sessions, ensuring that clients receive comprehensive support tailored to their unique situations.
  • Conducting initial assessments and repeated evaluations to track client progress and adjust therapeutic approaches as necessary.
  • Creating and managing individualized treatment plans, setting realistic goals in partnership with clients, and following up on their progress.
  • Participating actively in multi-disciplinary team meetings, sharing insights and recommendations that enhance overall treatment outcomes.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will primarily focus on individuals dealing with substance use issues and co-occurring mental health conditions. The diverse population you support will include adolescents, adults, and families facing various challenges, from anxiety and depression to relational conflicts. Your expertise will play a crucial role in fostering resilience and guiding them toward recovery pathways.

Qualifications

To qualify for this dynamic role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • A Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related field.
  • A valid license in good standing with the Board of Behavioral Science, either as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
Preferred Experience

While applicants with at least two years of experience in a clinical setting will be prioritized, those who have worked with clients facing substance abuse or co-occurring disorders will find their candidacy particularly strong. Experience facilitating group therapy sessions and developing treatment plans is highly valued.

Compensation and Benefits

Safe Horizon Recovery Facility offers a competitive annual salary ranging between $115,000 and $130,000, based on qualifications and experience. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance to support your well-being.
  • Generous paid time off (PTO) policy to foster work-life balance.
  • Student loan repayment assistance to alleviate educational debt.
  • Tuition reimbursement for ongoing professional development and education opportunities.
Career Growth Opportunities

We believe in nurturing the professional development of our staff. Opportunities for continuing education, specialized training, and leadership roles are readily available as you cultivate your career within our organization. By joining Safe Horizon Recovery Facility, you will gain access to mentorship programs that reinforce your skills and knowledge in mental health practice.
