Insurance Defense Lead Paralegal – 3–5 Years of Experience

Hightower, Stratton, Novigrod & Kantor is a well-established and highly respected law firm specializing in insurance defense litigation. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Insurance Defense Lead Paralegal to join our Insurance Defense team in our West Palm Beach office.

Position Overview:

Are you an experienced Insurance Defense Lead Paralegal looking to take the next step in your career? We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive professional with 3–5 years of insurance defense experience to support our Insurance Defense team in a fast-paced, high-exposure environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist attorneys with all aspects of case management, from inception through trial
• Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, discovery, subpoenas, and motions
• Organize and manage large volumes of documents, including medical records, deposition transcripts, and trial exhibits
• Coordinate and schedule hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials
• Assist in trial preparation, including trial binders, witness lists, and exhibit files
• Conduct legal research and summarize depositions, expert reports, and medical records
• Manage expert witnesses, including scheduling and communications
• Handle electronic filings in both state and federal courts
• Track billable time and ensure compliance with firm billing practices
• Independently manage priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume insurance defense practice

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a paralegal in an insurance defense law firm
• Experience supporting insurance defense litigation strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of Florida Rules of Civil Procedure and E-Filing
• Trial preparation and litigation support experience required
• Ability to summarize medical records, billing, and legal documents
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe, and case management systems
• Experience with Litify or Clio is a plus
• Paralegal certification or degree strongly preferred
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
