Job description

High Point University's Graduate Admissions Specialist is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week role reporting to the Director of Graduate Admissions. Responsibilities include managing incoming and outgoing calls, overseeing the Slate inbox, and responding to Graduate Admissions email inquiries. The Specialist supports the admissions, application, and campus visit process while delivering an exceptional experience to prospective students and families. Additional duties include organizing team travel, managing and ordering inventory and supplies through UniMarket, providing interview day support, and assisting with social media promotion of High Point University's graduate programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

  • Bachelors Degree

Experience and Training

  • Customer service experience preferred
  • Ability to perform calmly under stressful situations

Knowledge, Skills, Ability:

  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Organized with an attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
  • Some knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Social Media Platforms

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Answers incoming calls to the Office of Graduate Admissions at High Point University
  • Monitors and answers Graduate Admissions Slate inbox
  • Learns the key functions of the graduate programs and admission processes
  • Answers key questions asked by callers
  • Gives all callers/emailers an extraordinary experience while communicating with HPU
  • Strong partner with Graduate Admissions Recruiters
  • Coverage and support for graduate campus visits and interview days as needed
  • Maintains inventory of print materials and collateral.
  • Some data entry support
  • Social Media outreach in connection with programs and Assistant Director for Graduate AdmissionsCommunications and Marketing
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Contributes to the development and achievement of HPU's graduate recruitment objectives
  • Reports to the Director of Graduate Admissions and Marketing and works as part of the Graduate Admissions Recruitment team to effectively serve our customers and students.
