Job description


DBA CONSTRUCTION, INC. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Estimator to join our team in the Peoria, AZ area. This position will work closely with our Project Managers, General Contractors, and Sub-Contractor vendors. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is detail oriented, has a proven track record of success, and is a team player.
Responsibilities
  • Review and understand proposal documents including specifications, plans, drawings, and associated information.
  • Develop bid packages and prepare them for on-time submission.
  • Determine works scopes and perform accurate quantity takeoffs.
  • Contact suppliers and subcontractors to procure project quotes and information.
  • Communicate with clients and project owners regarding estimates and projects.
  • Prepare item resource requirements including labor, equipment, material, and subcontractor needs. Understand production rates and apply them to the estimate.
  • Analyze subcontractor and material quotes for plan and specification adherence and scope completeness.
  • Create project budgets and assemble job specific information for operations personnel.
  • Attend preconstruction meetings and project site visits.
  • From the site visit Identify project work site requirements and potential risk factors.
  • Understand and develop project schedules and work activity sequences.
  • Participate in estimate review meetings with operations and estimating personnel.
  • Help with the migration of project information from estimating to field production teams.
  • Support project management and field teams in project cost and production tracking and follow-up.
  • Keep files and bid documents for reference and historical data maintenance.
  • Help project management teams with change order and extra work pricing.

Skills/Qualifications:
  • Three years previous construction experience.
  • Two years civil construction estimating experience.
  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints (often incomplete).
  • Strong math skills.
  • Blue Beam Revu, Heavy Bid (HCSS), and AutoCAD.
  • Trimble GPS Rover and Data Collection experience.
  • Well versed in technical aspects of civil projects, including machinery and equipment.
  • Understanding of safety guidelines.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical skills with strong problem-solving abilities.

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
