In this role, you will lead estimating personnel and oversees the development of accurate, detailed construction cost estimates. This role is key to advancing preconstruction standards, ensuring process consistency, and supporting successful project delivery from concept through completion.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Manages Estimating personnel
  • Develops and ensures utilization of the Preconstruction processes, standards and tools
  • Develops accurate, detailed cost estimates and reviews other Team Member's estimates
  • Develops associated scope of work clarifications and requests for information (RFI's)
  • Develops market bid leveling analysis documents
  • Reviews and recommends responsible bidders from bid leveling analysis documents
  • Develops project construction budgets
  • Develops, maintains Preconstruction software and historical costs
  • Acts as the Pricing Lead when required
  • Identifies risk items and works on the Risk Register Development
  • Participates in proposal win strategy and presentation
  • Contributes to cost savings exercises
  • Works on the development of bid packages
  • Contributes to coordination and participation in Preconstruction-Operations Turnover Meetings
  • Works on Subcontractor and Vendor solicitations and relationships
  • Works on project procurement and buyout
  • Collaborates with Preconstruction Leadership, designers and clients, and the project operations team
  • Follows project construction costs and market trends
  • Travel as required
  • Other duties which may be assigned as needed

Education & Years of Experience:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent and 6+ years of estimating experience

To thrive in this role, you'll need:
  • Demonstrated estimating across various trades and scopes of work
  • Design-Build and CMAR project delivery method experience
  • Revit or Navisworks, 3D model experience a plus
  • Self-perform experience
  • Strong working relationships with clients, design and trade professionals
  • Ability to forecast design and materials at a conceptual level
  • Ability to develop a detailed estimate a conceptual level with minimal design
  • Strong understanding of material specifications to make informed recommendations
  • Team Leader with the ability to manage, schedule, train and develop personnel
  • Estimating software experience required, Beck Destini Estimator preferred
  • Strong organizational and communication skills

Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, and arm, hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
