Job description

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Evaluates assigned network and systems for performance, security, and other issues.
  • Analyzes data processing requirements to effectively plan a data processing system that will provide the system capabilities necessary for projected workloads.
  • Collaborates with data processing and project managers to determine limitations and capabilities of the existing system, and the capabilities required for future data processing projects and projected workload.ย 
  • Determines optimal hardware configurations by evaluating a variety of factors such as the number of departments serviced by data processing equipment, volume of transactions, and need for security and access restrictions.
  • Determines, suggests, and plans layout for computers and peripheral equipment, including necessary changes to existing equipment and systems required to ensure efficient operation and effective use of allotted space.
  • Determines power supply requirements and configurations.
  • Assists users with software, hardware, connectivity, and related issues; provides training on new or modified equipment.
  • Ensures system operates in line with specifications by monitoring equipment functions.ย 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.ย 
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze and address needs of users.
  • Thorough understanding of computer system hardware principles and procedures.
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Computer Science or related field required.
  • At least four years of related work experience required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
