Job Overview:

The DoubleTree by Hilton in Downtown Portland is seeking a dedicated and energetic Morning Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about coffee, customer service, and creating a welcoming environment for our guests. This role involves preparing high-quality beverages, maintaining the cleanliness of the coffee shop, and providing exceptional service to our guests during the morning shift.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Beverage Preparation:
    • Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, espresso drinks, teas, and smoothies.
    • Ensure consistency and quality in every cup by following established recipes and presentation standards.
  • Guest Service:
    • Greet guests warmly and provide excellent customer service.
    • Take guest orders accurately and efficiently.
    • Address guest inquiries and resolve any complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Operational Duties:
    • Operate and maintain coffee-making equipment, ensuring it is clean and in good working condition.
    • Keep the coffee shop area clean and organized, including counters, machines, and seating areas.
    • Restock supplies such as coffee beans, milk, and pastries as needed.
  • Sales and Cash Handling:
    • Process transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system.
    • Handle cash and credit card transactions, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed.
    • Promote and upsell additional items such as pastries, snacks, and retail products.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Work closely with other staff members to ensure smooth operations during the shift.
    • Communicate effectively with team members and management to address any issues or special requests.
Qualifications:
  • Experience and Skills:
