Job description

The Lead Tires and Materials Testing Technician will maintain test vehicles and lab equipment as well as support offsite testing to support materials and tire testing. This person will also collaborate with Scientists and Engineers, develop test methods, and mentor junior technicians. This is a primarily first shift position which may require some off shift work, including nights and weekends and traveling.

What You Will Do
  • Repair and maintain test and fleet vehicles. Routine hub and bearing maintenance.
  • Willingness, with Goodyear's support, to obtain Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) to support offsite testing, including winter operations.
  • Perform machine/equipment setup based on test requests or specifications, ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • Calibrate, verify and validate machines and instruments to ensure proper setup and reliable results.
  • Drive quality control efforts within the testing area and support ISO audit processes as the lead representative.
  • Collaborate with Engineers to troubleshoot equipment issues and support testing development or special operational requests.

What We're Looking For
  • High School Diploma
  • 7+ years of relevant experience, or 4+ years with an Associate's degree in a STEM field.
  • Experience in laboratory, manufacturing, or industrial environments, including ISO quality systems and operating manual/semi-automated machinery and industrial vehicles.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and technical aptitude with solid computer skills, basic math competency, and technical writing capability.
  • Proven teamwork and collaboration skills with flexibility to shift between tasks as business needs change.
