Job description

Systems Integration Engineer - Fairfax, VA

In-Depth Engineering seeks Systems Integration Engineers to support our AN/SQQ-89 Undersea Warfare Combat System program supporting our U.S. Navy customer.  Engineers are responsible for addressing a variety of software, hardware and infrastructure issues related to integrating a complex system of subsystems and functional capabilities in a simulated tactical lab environment. 

Candidates for consideration must be a US citizen and be eligible to obtain a Department of Defense secret clearance.

Tasks may include:

  • Configuring and managing network/cross-site connectivity of servers, disk drives, displays, HMI, KVM, and BIOS
  • Compiling, installing, running, and testing software
  • Developing and running test and debug procedures
  • System hardware, software configuration, and hardware stand-up
  • Asset allocation and configuration
  • Support to partner organizations 
  • Potential need for limited CONUS travel (< 20%)

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related major
  • 2+ years of engineering and systems integration experience
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (i.e., bash, csh, and ksh) 
  • Experience operating within the Linux operating system
  • A self-starter with strong integration and debug skills 
  • Demonstrated experience and success collaborating in a team environment for system development and HW/SW troubleshooting
  • Problem/issue reporting and tracking experience

Desired skills:

  • Experience in Agile program execution and system engineering 
  • Networking skills; familiar with Cisco router and switches
  • Knowledgeable in software programming languages (i.e., C++, Java, python)
  • Experience with software compilation utilities (i.e., GIT, Jenkins, Artifactory, Gradle)
  • Previous experience with Anti-Submarine Warfare
  • Skills in coordinating with U.S. Navy customers, Program Office, and industry partners
