Job description

GD Resources LLC is seeking Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Psychiatry Physicians to provide comprehensive mental health services for Veterans at the Hampton VA Healthcare System. Physicians will deliver inpatient, outpatient, and residential psychiatric care while collaborating with VA clinical teams.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct psychiatric assessments, diagnoses, and treatment planning.
  • Provide inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care.
  • Admit, manage, discharge, and transfer patients as appropriate.
  • Manage medications and respond to psychiatric emergencies and crises.
  • Provide follow-up care, e-consults, and suicide-risk assessments.
  • Complete histories, physicals, treatment notes, and other required documentation.
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, mental health professionals, and VA staff.
  • Provide oversight to residents, interns, medical students, and other trainees when assigned.
  • See approximately 12-15 patients per weekday.
  • Participate in weekend and federal holiday inpatient coverage.
  • Provide rotating after-hours telephone consultations.
  • Return to the facility within one hour when callback coverage requires onsite care.
  • Participate in quality assurance, patient safety, and required staff meetings.
Schedule
Normal weekday hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m., with a 30-minute unpaid lunch.
The coverage schedule also includes:
  • Rotating weekends and federal holidays from 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
  • Weekend and holiday evening telephone consultations.
  • After-hours callback coverage when required.
  • Possible assignment of one physician to the Virginia Beach clinic.
Minimum Qualifications
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted medical license in a U.S. state, territory, commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.
  • Current DEA registration and National Provider Identifier.
  • Relevant experience providing comprehensive psychiatric care.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently.
  • Eligibility for VA credentialing and clinical privileges.
  • Ability to satisfy background, health-screening, immunization, and mandatory training requirements.
  • No exclusion from participation in federal healthcare programs.
Additional Requirements
Candidates must provide documentation of licensure, board status, education, training, professional liability coverage, DEA registration, NPI, and BLS certification. Employment is contingent upon successful VA credentialing, privileging, background approval, and contract award.
