About the Organization

At Function First Therapy Center, we are committed to enhancing the mental health and well-being of our clients through evidence-based practices and innovative therapy methods. With a focus on compassion and collaboration, our skilled team of mental health professionals provides a wide range of therapeutic services catered to diverse client needs. Our mission is to empower individuals and families to navigate their mental health challenges effectively, promoting overall wellness and recovery.

Work Environment

This position is entirely remote, allowing you to provide necessary mental health support to clients from the comfort of your home or preferred workspace. Our telehealth setup includes user-friendly electronic health record systems, such as AVATAR, ensuring that you can track patient progress and manage administrative tasks efficiently. The collaborative nature of our virtual environment promotes ongoing communication with fellow mental health specialists, ensuring you have the support and resources needed to deliver optimal care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial and ongoing assessments, documenting client progress through detailed case notes and progress reports.
  • Evaluate clients’ mental, emotional, and behavioral health, integrating findings into individualized treatment strategies.
  • Create personalized intervention plans that will target clients’ unique challenges, considering factors like family dynamics and social support systems.
  • Facilitate individual therapy sessions and structured group therapy workshops that foster connection and healing among participants.
  • Monitor and assess client progress continuously, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to reflect changing needs or circumstances.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare providers to develop comprehensive intervention strategies, communicating effectively with psychiatrists, case managers, and nursing staff.
  • Proactively follow up with clients transitioning from inpatient care to outpatient treatment to ensure seamless continuity of care.
  • Support family members and caregivers by providing guidance and resources to help them manage associated mental health challenges.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your expertise will directly impact a diverse clientele, including individuals, couples, families, and groups. Many clients may be facing challenges related to anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, and other mental health disorders. Your role is vital in identifying therapeutic pathways that promote healing and personal growth. By offering a safe and supportive environment, you will help clients rebuild their lives and strengthen their mental resilience.

Qualifications
  • Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from a regionally accredited institution is required.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Texas is essential.
  • Successful completion of the NCE and/or the NCMHCE is required, demonstrating your foundational knowledge and competence in the field.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in mental health counseling or a related role is necessary for candidates to thrive in our environment.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems and telehealth technologies is advantageous.
  • A thorough understanding of both physical and emotional health conditions, as well as addiction disorders, is necessary.
  • Knowledge of the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices will be beneficial.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are paramount, along with strong interpersonal skills and a client-centered approach.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working with a variety of behavioral health challenges and educational backgrounds enhances your ability to connect with clients effectively.
  • Prior experience in a telehealth setting will provide valuable insight into the unique aspects of delivering care remotely.
  • Exposure to interdisciplinary collaboration with other healthcare professionals will support the holistic approach we value.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a comprehensive healthcare benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision coverage to ensure your well-being while you care for others. Additionally, employees are eligible for retirement savings plans, with employer contributions to help you plan for the future.
