Function First Therapy Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Mental Health Counselor to deliver exceptional therapeutic support to our clients. This full-time remote position allows you to practice from the comfort of your home while contributing significantly to the mental health landscape in Fort Worth, Texas. You will be responsible for conducting in-depth mental health evaluations, crafting tailored treatment plans, and facilitating therapeutic interventions both individually and in group settings. Your role will also include managing client referrals and collaborating with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals.

Work Environment

This role will be primarily remote, offering flexibility and the ability to maintain a work-life balance while engaging effectively with clients. As an outpatient facility, Function First Therapy Center is equipped with state-of-the-art technology to streamline communication and therapeutic interventions. You'll have access to electronic health record systems, such as AVATAR, to document client progress and treatment plans efficiently, maintaining a clear continuum of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting thorough preliminary interviews to assess clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional health and documenting case histories from initial consultation to the conclusion of treatment.
  • Developing customized intervention and recovery plans for a diverse clientele, including individuals, couples, families, and groups, ensuring that treatment is aligned with client needs and goals.
  • Facilitating individual and group therapy sessions, employing a variety of therapeutic techniques and modalities to foster engagement and promote healing.
  • Monitoring and evaluating client progress throughout the treatment process, adjusting recovery plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Collaborating with other mental health professionals, physicians, nurses, and social workers to design holistic intervention strategies that address all aspects of client well-being.
  • Following up with clients upon hospital admission, liaising with psychiatrists and attending physicians to communicate treatment needs and facilitate continuity of care.
  • Identifying and preemptively addressing behaviors that may hinder recovery, employing evidence-based strategies to bolster resilience and encourage positive coping mechanisms.
  • Supporting family members and primary caregivers in managing the mental health challenges of their loved ones, providing educational resources and intervention strategies as needed.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will focus on a diverse range of clients experiencing various mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction disorders. You will provide compassionate care to individuals of all ages, ensuring a tailored approach that respects cultural differences and individual circumstances. Your expertise will empower clients to navigate their mental health journeys, enabling them to develop crucial coping strategies and life skills.

Qualifications
  • Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Valid and current licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in Texas.
  • Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
  • Minimum of two years of prior experience working as a mental health counselor, demonstrating a robust understanding of various therapeutic practices and client management.
  • Proficiency in utilizing electronic health record systems, specifically AVATAR or comparable software.
  • Experience in addressing co-occurring physical and emotional health conditions, along with addiction-related issues.
  • Knowledge of best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to convey complex ideas clearly to clients and families.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, exhibiting empathy and active listening in all client interactions.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working with diverse populations and varied cultural backgrounds, enhancing your capability to provide sensitive and inclusive care.
  • Familiarity with treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), or Mindfulness-based approaches.
  • Previous involvement in professional development workshops or continuing education activities related to mental health counseling.
Compensation and Benefits

Function First Therapy Center offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $80,000 to $100,000, alongside a sign-on bonus to new hires.
