Position Overview

The Foster Future Foundation is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to become a vital part of our mental health team. In this full-time position, you will work remotely from Columbus, Georgia, bringing your expertise in counseling to individuals, couples, and families seeking support for mental health challenges. Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain a positive, trusting rapport with clients to facilitate open communication.
  • Diagnose mental health disorders through comprehensive assessments and clinical interviews.
  • Create detailed, individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique needs and circumstances.
  • Conduct regular counseling sessions, utilizing evidence-based practices that promote effective client engagement.
  • Facilitate therapy for individuals and groups, focusing on skill-building and coping strategies.
  • Continuously assess patient progress and adjust treatment plans based on feedback and observed outcomes.
  • Collaborate with external specialists to refer clients for additional support when necessary.
  • Work closely with other mental health professionals in our clinic to enhance treatment strategies and ensure comprehensive care for clients.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The clients you will serve come from diverse backgrounds and may include individuals facing a range of mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. You will also work with families as they navigate complex dynamics affecting their mental well-being. This role requires a deep understanding of cultural sensitivities and an empathetic approach to each client's unique situation.

Qualifications
  • Valid state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is required.
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in an outpatient mental health setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong skills in therapeutic and counseling techniques with a focus on establishing client motivation and trust.
  • Excellent communication abilities, both verbal and written, to ensure effective collaboration and documentation.
Preferred Experience
  • Specialized training or experience in addiction counseling, particularly with co-occurring disorders.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based practices for substance abuse treatment.
  • Experience using electronic health record (EHR) systems to document patient progress and treatment plans.
Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 70,000 to 90,000, depending on qualifications and experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer an attractive benefits package including:
