Job description

Job Summary:
The University of Pennsylvania, a prestigious Ivy League institution and the largest private employer in Philadelphia, is seeking an Application Developer C. This role involves designing and delivering software solutions for the Pathology department, collaborating with researchers and clinicians to develop applications and tools that enhance clinical research workflows and data integration.
Responsibilities:
• The Application Developer will develop, deploy, and maintain Pathology department platform for computational pathology and biomedical research. The position is responsible for building software applications, data pipelines, and AI-enabled tools that support whole-slide image analysis, multimodal data integration, and clinical research workflows. The Application Developer will work closely with researchers and clinicians to translate innovative AI methods into scalable and user-friendly software solutions.
• Position is contingent upon funding
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor of Science and 2 to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• Experience with software development using Python, Next.JS, electron, and modern software engineering practices.
• Familiarity with web application development, databases, APIs, and version control systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment.
Preferred:
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Bioengineering, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
