Position Summary

The Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring the bank’s compliance with all federal and state laws pertaining to lending and deposits. This role develops and updates policies and procedures, oversees compliance-related staff, and serves as a key resource for regulatory and industry updates.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Creating, reviewing, and maintaining policies and procedures to ensure compliance with lending and deposit regulations
  • Managing the bank’s compliance program, including complaint management, policy review, and regulatory exam preparation
  • Conduct and manage regular risk assessments to identify areas of vulnerability regarding regulations and internal policies
  • Ensures accurate collection, analysis, and timely submission of Home Mortgage Act Disclosure (HMDA) reporting
  • Coordinating with legal counsel and bank leadership on new or revised products and services
  • Providing training, guidance, and support to staff on compliance matters
  • Supervising the Bank Secrecy Act Officer, Loan Audit Specialist, and Compliance/Fraud Specialist
  • Participating in key committees including Enterprise Risk Management, Audit/Legal/Compliance, Product Innovation, Business Continuity, and Incident Response
  • Interpret and disseminate information on regulatory/compliance matters
  • Maintain education and professional expertise through attendance at professional seminars, conferences and workshops

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience in banking compliance (community banking preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory matters and industry trends in lending and deposit compliance
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong ethical focus and attention to detail
  • Ability to lead with tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality
  • Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) designation preferred

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed primarily within the Bank, with limited chance of personal injury
  • Periodic travel between offices and occasional overnight business travel may be required
  • Normal business hours with some evening or weekend work as needed
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 20 pounds of office supplies and equipment
  • Serve as a representative of the organization at appropriate functions
