Job description

The Manager Estimating is responsible for the management, supervision, coordination, and successful completion of conceptual and detailed estimates for various complex projects. Directs the quantitative development of material, labor, and subcontract take-offs, as well as the coordination of information among Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and project teams. Presents completed estimates to Exyte Management, JV partners and clients for review.


Responsibilities

  • Supervises and assures the quality and timeliness of all estimating and bidding activities
  • Assists and/or leads proposal preparation, presentation and securing new work
  • Develops the estimate plan and schedule and coordinates estimate development with the project/capture team
  • Prepares Work Package Estimate breakdowns in conjunction with the project/proposal team
  • Leads the development of the total project estimate; detailed and/or conceptual
  • Prepares the total Project Basis of Estimate
  • Prepares the Estimate Risk Analysis and makes cost contingency recommendations
  • Analyzes and makes independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines
  • Supports preparation and Presentation of Project Estimates to Executive and Client management Teams
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications


Minimum Required

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in the commercial/industrial construction industries
  • 7+ years of competitive bid experience preferred
  • Experience in commercial estimating
  • Experience with the following software applications preferred: Trimble WinEst and Accubid, Bluebeam and Microsoft office suite (Excel, Word, etc)


Preferred

  • Experience in Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning (EPCC) projects is required
  • Experience in Commercial building, Bio Life Sciences construction desired data centers and Semiconductors a plus
  • BIM estimating experience desired
  • Ability to prepare conceptual cost model estimates from limited information using local historic cost information
  • Understands the fundamental concepts of engineering drawings
  • Ability to effectively perform material take-offs
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Exceptional organization and coordination skills
  • Ability to travel to support both project and corporate needs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
