Extension Inc is looking for a Field Service Engineer to support our client in Menomonee Falls, WI; this role is a direct hire position, and would be a great fit for someone looking to make the transition from hands-on maintenance work into an office or technical support focused role.

Responsibilities

• Provide phone and virtual troubleshooting support for industrial equipment issues
• Support Field Service Engineers and customers with diagnostics and repair guidance
• Assist with parts identification, BOM review, and technical problem solving
• Read and interpret mechanical and electrical prints, schematics, and assembly drawings
• Evaluate customer issues and determine next steps, including escalation or on-site support
• Document service activity in tracking systems and maintain accurate records
• Contribute to technical documentation, bulletins, and internal knowledge base
• Communicate effectively with customers, field teams, and internal departments

Qualifications

• Background working with industrial machinery, equipment, or technical systems
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
• Ability to read prints, schematics, and bills of material (BOMs)
• Comfortable supporting customers over the phone and in a remote setting
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts clearly

Preferred:

• Field Service Engineer or repair technician experience
• Associate degree or technical training in mechanical, electrical, or related field
• Experience working directly with customers in a technical support environment
