Job description

Olive Recruiting is seeking a highly skilled International Airfreight Specialist on behalf of our freight forwarding client in the Nashville market. This role is ideal for an experienced airfreight professional with strong import/export knowledge who can operate independently, support customers directly, and contribute to a growing team. Candidates with ocean import experience—or those open to learning it—are strongly preferred.

Location: Nashville, TN
Position Type: Full-time
Schedule: Monday–Friday, in office (with occasional weekend/evening client updates as needed)
Compensation: Competitive salary and great comprehensive benefits package

Responsibilities:
• Manage all aspects of international airfreight shipments (import/export) from booking through final delivery
• Prepare and process all required airfreight documentation including MAWB/HAWB, commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, AES filings, etc.
• Coordinate with airlines, truckers, overseas agents, customs brokers, and clients to ensure timely and compliant cargo movement
• Track and monitor shipments throughout transit and provide proactive communication and updates to customers, including occasional weekend or evening updates when needed
• Ensure compliance with TSA, IATA, U.S. Customs, and all other governing regulations
• Support customer needs with strong service, problem-solving, and attention to detail
• Collaborate with internal team members and contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment
• Learn and support ocean import operations if not already experienced

Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years of airfreight import/export experience within a freight forwarding environment
• Strong understanding of international air cargo processes, documentation, and regulations
• Ocean import knowledge is a plus; willingness to learn is required
• Stable work history with longevity in prior roles (not multiple one-year transitions)
• Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills
• Proven ability to manage shipments independently from A–Z
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and handle time-sensitive shipments
• Proficiency with freight forwarding systems and carrier platforms preferred
