Job description

Presbyterian Village Cobb, a Premier Retirement Community located in Cobb County is seeking a compassionate, organized, and engaging Full-Time Activities Coordinator & Social Services Administrative Assistant to join our long-term care/skilled nursing team. This is a hybrid role that primarily supports the Director of Activities with the planning, coordination, and implementation of resident activities and department initiatives, while also providing part-time administrative support to the Director of Social Services.
The successful candidate will be compassionate, dependable, creative, organized, and resident focused. This individual should be comfortable taking directions from the Director of Activities, supporting department initiatives, and working collaboratively with the Director of Social Services.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys both hands-on resident engagement and administrative support and wants to make a meaningful contribution to the quality of life of residents in a long-term care/skilled nursing environment.
Activities Support
Under the direction of the Director of Activities, the Activities Coordinator & Social Services Administrative Assistant will:
• Assist with planning, coordinating, and facilitating engaging recreational, social, and therapeutic activities for residents.
• Support the Director of Activities in implementing department programs, special events, and resident-centered initiatives.
• Assist with maintaining the monthly activities calendar and ensuring scheduled programs are carried out as planned.
• Encourage resident participation while recognizing individual interests, abilities, preferences, and needs.
• Assist with individual and small-group activities for residents who may be unable or unwilling to participate in larger programs.
• Assist with special events, holidays, outings, celebrations, and other activities designed to enhance resident quality of life.
• Help maintain accurate activity records and documentation.
• Work collaboratively with nursing, rehabilitation, dietary, social services, and other departments to support resident participation and engagement.
• Provide coverage and additional support for the Activities Department as needed.
Social Services Administrative Support
As assigned by the Director of Social Services, the position will also:
• Provide administrative and organizational support to the Director of Social Services.
• Assist with maintaining resident records, documentation, correspondence, and department files.
• Assist with scheduling, tracking, and coordinating social services activities and resident needs.
• Assist with preparing information and documentation for care plan meetings and other resident-related meetings.
• Assist with communication and follow-up with residents, families, staff, and members of the interdisciplinary team.
• Support resident and family engagement initiatives as directed by the Director of Social Services.
• Maintain confidentiality and protect resident privacy at all times.
Qualifications
Required:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience working with older adults, preferably in long-term care, skilled nursing, assisted living, healthcare, recreation, or a related setting.
• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently while supporting the goals and initiatives of the Activities and
Social Services departments.
• Genuine interest in working with older adults and enhancing resident quality of life.
Preferred:
Activities/Recreation certification or related credential.
• Associate's or bachelor's degree in Social Services, Human Services, Recreation, Gerontology, Psychology, or a related field.
• Previous long-term care or skilled nursing activities experience.
• Administrative experience in a healthcare or social services environment
